If Not You, Then Who?

Evangelism: How to Overcome Fear, Embrace Urgency, and Step Out in Faith

   | “Evangelism without urgency is like fire without heat.” — Reinhard Bonnke

There’s something burning in my heart that I can’t shake. I’ve seen stadiums filled. I’ve seen one-on-one moments where eternity breaks in. I’ve seen the lost come home, and I’ve also seen Christians paralyzed by fear—afraid to speak, unsure how to start, and convinced someone else will do it.

But here’s the truth: evangelism isn’t for the experts. It’s for the obedient.
And if you're reading this, God is calling you.

1. Break the Fear: Evangelism Isn’t About You

When you first try to step out to preach the gospel on the streets, your heart is pounding. You're was afraid of rejection. You might think, “What if I say it wrong?” But let me tell you something to shatter that fear:

“God isn’t looking for your perfection. He’s looking for your yes.”
The Holy Spirit doesn’t need you to have all the right words—He just needs your willingness. Fear is rooted in self-focus: what if I look dumb, what if they don’t respond, what if they mock me. But evangelism is not about you—it’s about Jesus in you.

“The less you talk about yourself, the more powerful your gospel becomes.”
— Daniel Kolenda
The moment you shift your eyes to the eternal condition of the person in front of you, fear breaks.

Practical Step:

Today, go up to one person and ask, “Hey, has anyone told you today that Jesus loves you?” That’s it. Start small. Just break the silence.

2. Urgency: Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Reinhard Bonnke once said,
 |“The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.”

We’re not guaranteed another day. Neither are the people we pass by in the grocery store, at the gas pump, or in our schools. Every second matters in the Kingdom. And the enemy’s greatest strategy isn’t to stop you from evangelizing—it’s to get you to delay it.

I’ve seen people healed, saved, and set free who told us they were planning to end their lives that very night. We can’t wait!

Now is the day of salvation.
—2 Corinthians 6:2

Practical Step:
Before the day ends, ask the Lord: “Who can I share with today?” Write down 3 names. Text or call them. Don’t wait.

3. Simplicity: You Don’t Need a Stage—You Just Need Love

Evangelism isn't always a mic, a sermon, or a stage. Sometimes it’s a whisper, a hug, a question, or a smile. It’s you noticing people when the world passes them by.

Jesus preached to multitudes—but He also went after the one.

I remember standing outside a gas station. The Lord said, "Tell the woman at pump 6 I love her." That was it. So I did. She burst into tears. She had just prayed in her car: “God, if You’re real, show me.”
We are the answer to people’s prayers.

When you step out, heaven steps in!
Practical Step:

Make a commitment: Every day this week, share Jesus with one person. Doesn’t matter how. Just one. At the end of 7 days, you’ll never be the same.

4. Power: You’re Not Alone in Evangelism

The Holy Spirit is the master evangelist!

You aren’t going out in your strength. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you—and He’s more passionate about saving souls than you are.

Miracles happen on the edge of obedience. That means, when you step out, even with shaky knees, power meets you there. Healing, prophecy, signs, and wonders follow the gospel—not because we’re flashy, but because God loves confirming His Word.

Practical Step:

When you pray for someone, go the extra step: Ask if they need healing. Ask if they need a miracle. Watch what God will do.

5. Boldness: Fire Is Contagious

5. Boldness: Fire Is Contagious
I want to leave you with this: You weren’t saved to sit—you were saved to go.

Evangelism is the overflow of a heart on fire. If your heart feels cold, don’t let shame stop you—go back to Jesus. Sit with Him. Let Him remind you of what He did for you. Boldness doesn’t come from personality—it comes from intimacy.

When you realize Jesus really saved you from hell, from sin, from yourself… you won’t be able to stay silent.

Hell is real. Heaven is real. And we have the answer: JESUS.
Let’s make a decision together:
No more fear. No more delay. No more silence.
This is the hour. You were born for this.

Your Evangelism Challenge:

  1. Pray for boldness daily (Acts 4:29).
  2. Commit to share Jesus with 1 person each day this week.
  3. Journal the stories—and share them to encourage others.
  4. Invite someone to church or your small group.
  5. Believe for miracles when you pray for people.
Final Thoughts
The harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few. My prayer is that by the time you finish reading this blog, you say: “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”

You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need a platform.
You just need a heart that says yes.

Let's go win souls—because eternity is on the line.
