Is it God's Will to Heal?
IS GOD WILLING TO HEAL?
This is one of the constant questions among the Christian church universally.
Everyone believes God is more than able and powerful to heal. After all, one of the very basic and essential characteristics of God is omnipotence (He is all powerful). However, still the question we come back to- is He willing?
By the time you finish reading this article, you will see why we believe God is fully willing to still heal today. You won't hear a minister's opinions or countless witness testimonies, but you will hear straight from the Scriptures what God says Himself about healing.
WHY?
"Is God a man that He should lie?" (Numbers 23:19). This is the standard we live by in regard to the Word. God does NOT lie, therefore, if he said it, then I believe it. I have no right to try and create some other explanation to fit my own theological worldview based off experience and opinion. Quite frankly, my opinion and yours don't matter if God had something to say about the topic, and this applies significantly towards healing.

WHY DID JESUS DIE ON THE CROSS?
1. 100% of believers cling to the belief that Christ paid the price on the cross for our salvation. This is the grace God bestowed upon us that we can be forgiven of all sin and have a right relationship with God. Isaiah 53:5 says, "He was wounded for our transgressions and He was bruised for our iniquities."
Sadly, many stop there with their faith.
2. This is a hard pill for many to swallow, but Christ legitimately died on the cross for our healing as well. Isaiah 53:4 says, "Surely, he has borne [carried away] our griefs [sicknesses and diseases] and carried our sorrows [pains]... AND WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED."
Matthew 8:17 capitalizes on this- "And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'” By healing the sick in His earthly ministry, Jesus was fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy before He ever went to the cross and legally obtained redemption for us.

SALVATION ISN'T THE ONLY THING JESUS DIED FOR
Imagine you have a big cake that is all yours and you split it in half. You have all rights to eat the entire cake, but for some reason you are only eating the one half. You're very hungry but reject the other half which is legally yours.
In the same way, too often the church treats what Jesus did on the cross like this. We have legal rights and inheritance to not just redemption for our sin but as well healing for our bodies from sickness and diseases. The reality is that it is up to you wether you want to accept or reject this gift from God. Healing belongs to us just as salvation does!

JESUS HIMSELF SAID HE IS WILLING

There is a story in Luke 5 of "a man full of leprosy" that fell on his face in front of Jesus that questioned the same thing like many reading this article. He said, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." Notice, he never questioned if Jesus (the Son of God) was able to, but he questioned if Jesus was willing to.
Luke 5:12-13 says,
"And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.' Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed, and immediately the leprosy left him."
Leprosy is a horrific disease that deforms and mutilates the body as it progresses. This passage above shows this leprosy was not in just one spot, but had completely overtaken it. Yet, that didn't withhold Jesus from still declaring unto him, "I am willing; be cleansed and immediately the leprosy left him." There is no sickness too big for God to be willing
